When should you get an asbestos test?
- Before you or a tradesperson drills, cuts, sands or removes anything in a home built or altered before 1990
- When you're buying or selling an older property and want certainty
- When you're a landlord or property manager and need to know what's in a rental
- After storm, fire or impact damage has broken sheeting or roofing
- When you find old sheeting or fragments in a yard, under a house or on acreage
- When a workplace needs an asbestos register or management plan

Our testing and inspection services
- Sample testing – we take samples of suspect materials safely and send them to a NATA-accredited laboratory for analysis.
- Property inspections – a walk-through of your home or premises to identify likely asbestos-containing materials, with sampling where needed.
- Asbestos reports – plain-English findings showing what was tested, where, the results, the condition of the material and our recommendations.
- Workplace asbestos registers – identifying and recording asbestos in commercial premises to help you meet your obligations under Queensland work health and safety laws.
- Soil and fragment assessment – for yards, under-house areas and land where broken asbestos may be present.
- Clearance coordination – arranging the clearance inspection and air monitoring required after removal.
How asbestos testing works
- Book. Fill out our intake form or call 0403 126 276. Tell us what you're concerned about and send photos if you can.
- Inspection and sampling. We inspect the area and take small samples using safe methods: the material is wetted, a sample is cut out with hand tools, sealed in a labelled bag, and the sample point is sealed so fibres aren't released.
- Laboratory analysis. Samples are analysed by an accredited laboratory. Turnaround depends on the lab and number of samples, and we'll give you an expected timeframe when you book.
- Report and advice. You receive your results and clear advice on what to do next.
Please don't break off samples yourself. Breaking a suspect material to post it off can release fibres, which is exactly what testing is meant to avoid.
What happens if asbestos is found?
A positive result doesn't automatically mean it has to come out. Bonded asbestos in good condition can often be left in place and managed, as long as it isn't disturbed. Your report will set out the options, which may include leaving it alone, sealing it, or removing it.
If removal is the right choice, we can arrange it: we provide WorkSafe QLD licensed asbestos removal. See Asbestos Removal Brisbane or Asbestos Removal Moreton Bay.
Testing after storms and emergencies
If a storm, fire or accident has damaged materials you think may contain asbestos, treat them as asbestos until tested. Keep people away, don't hose or sweep the debris, and call 0403 126 276. We're available 24/7 and can assess, make safe and test in one visit.
Areas we cover
We provide asbestos testing across the Brisbane City Council area and the City of Moreton Bay, including North Lakes, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Strathpine, Bray Park and Petrie. We also inspect for mould in properties with leaks or water damage.
